which featured a five-photo carousel of the couple surrounded by flowers and Kelce kneeling before Swift. The post racked up nearly 38 million likes.
During Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights,” Kelce revealed the engagement took place after he and Swift recorded her appearance on the podcast, which was released on Aug. 13, 2025. The Grammy-winning
singer helped Kelce and his cohost, brother Jason Kelce, kick off the show’s season premiere with a candid interview that included discussions of Swift’s music and her relationship with Kelce.
“Starting it with Taylor, pretty epic,” Kelce said. “During that recording, the entire time I’m planning, like, I’m going to ask this woman to marry me after.
He added that the episode will be “one I’ll remember forever.”
Swift and Kelce’s whirlwind romance began unexpectedly in July 2023 after Kelce expressed his frustration about not getting to meet the singer at her Eras Tour on an episode of the “New Heights” podcast.
In a December 2023 interview with Time magazine, Swift said the podcast callout was
“metal as hell.” But the “I Knew It, I Knew You” songstress later poked fun at her partner’s gesture during her “New Heights” appearance last August.
“He threw a man tantrum. It’s so funny,” Swift reflected. “It was such a wild romantic gesture to just be like, ‘I want to date you!’ This dude didn’t get a meet-and-greet, he’s making it everyone’s problem.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, in a star-studded ceremony that featured A-list guests including Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Zoë Kravitz.
While the pair’s high-profile nuptials have generated headlines, details from the ceremony are scant, as photos and
videos from the wedding have yet to be released.
Swift and Kelce did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen, instead opting for Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, as her man of honor and Jason Kelce as the groom’s best man. The ceremony was officiated by the couple’s friend Sandler.
Despite the celebrity glitz surrounding their relationship, Kelce got candid
on the normalcy of his romance with Swift in a September 2025 interview with GQ.
“When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love,” Kelce said. “It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that it’s as normal of… It happened very
organically, even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked.”
